Student tours seeks to promote awareness of local history in Aran-Bidgol
TEHRAN – Student tours to historical sites in Aran-Bidgol county have been organized to promote awareness of local history and cultural identity among teenagers, a local official said.
During the recent tours, students visited the Nushabad Underground City, described by officials as a notable example of hand-dug architecture, as well as the Vigole archaeological site, according to Mohammad-Javad Abdoli, head of the county’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Office.
Abdoli said the visits will continue on a regular basis under existing plans. Cultural heritage experts provide on-site explanations to familiarize students with the historical background of the area, he added.
He described the program as a step toward transferring historical values to younger generations and invited all schools in the county to participate.
Abdoli also acknowledged the cooperation of the Nushabad municipality and the management teams of the Nushabad and Vigole cultural heritage bases in implementing the project.
Located near Kashan in central Iran, Aran-Bidgol county is known for its desert landscapes and historical sites, including the Maranjab Desert and the Nushabad Underground City, which attract domestic visitors each year. Local authorities have said efforts are underway, in cooperation with communities and private investors, to expand tourism in the area.
